last in person shopping opportunity of the season!

Just wanted to take a quick moment to let you know that your last chance
to buy my pots in person this holiday season is happening this weekend. It's a
wonderful Holiday Open House in Laytonsville MD (northern Montgomery
County MD) at Art of Fire's Headquarters.
This is a great good time in a peaceful, beautiful location- Art of
Fire has a gallery in a converted dairy barn and they're making glass
all weekend long, plus there are two visiting artists in the gallery and
a wonderful assortment of handmade glass and ceramic gifts for sale.
Dancing Pig Pottery and Tuatha are set up in the garage next door. We've
got lots of pottery and wonderful handmade Celtic Gifts as well as hand
turned wooden pens and other beautiful gifts for scribes from my pal
Randy, a MD Renn Fest friend who's just starting out in the crafting
world (meaning his prices are great, come take advantage of him!)

All of this shopping is happening in a peaceful pastoral setting, far
from the maddening crowds at the malls. If you love giving handmade
thoughtfully crafted gifts, this is the place for you to shop. As an
added bonus, this is just one stop on a Studio Tour of great artists
scattered across the Maryland countryside. Lots of yarn, fiber, pottery
and other arts can be found- it's an awesome way to shop in a
responsible, sustainable way.

Please tell all of your friends and pass this along: do your friends a
favor and let's all stay out of the malls and big boxes this holiday
season!

grateful if you do!

i'm back!

I know, I know, when it comes to blogging, i suck.
However, I'm posting now, and am making a Samhain (aka pagan new year) resolution to keep this page more up to date.

There have been alot of changes in my life recently, but despite or perhaps because of them, one thing i'm sure of is that i'm going to continue making and selling my pottery. (Look, i've got two tons of clay stockpiled for my winter production season!) I am however, in need of a business partner and a romantic one as well. So, if you know of anyone who wants to buy into a struggling pottery business and or a independently wealthy single guy who's into fat tattooed potters, please send them my way! I'm also in need of a good, cheap, reliable truck or van, one that can carry around alot of pottery while towing a trailer full of tents, shelves and tables.

In the meantime, I'm making lots of pottery and selling it on Etsy and at the Art of Fire's Holiday Open House and Studio Tour, in Laytonsville MD. That's happening the first two weekends of December; Friday Saturday and Sunday December 3, 4 & 5 and then again December 10, 11 & 12 from 10 til 5 each day. Come say hello, shop for pottery & Celtic Awesomeness from Tuatha & bring your shopping list & aforementioned potential partners, both romantic or business or both!

See you soon?! I certainly hope so!

Warm Imbolc Greetings

I got an awesome comment from a customer on Etsy today. She had bought two mugs from me recently and was making inquiries about buying two more. In her note to me she said: ""If you're wondering why so many mugs in a short span of time: I decided I hate washing glassware, and handmade ceramic is so much more satisfying to me to hold and use anyway" (from Jennet)
Isn't that cool?!
It makes me so happy that she prefers handmade pots to commercial glassware & even happier that she wants so much of MY pottery!
Selling my pottery is always useful in that it gives me money to buy more supplies so i can make more pots & it feeds my belly as well but comments like those feed my soul.
And the timing is perfect for Imbolc, which in my tradition is all about Brigit & her sacred hearth, the fire of inspiration that keeps us warm in the depth of winter.
What is keeping you warm "in the belly"(one of the original meanings of the word Imbolc) of this winter? I hope that whatever it is, you drink it from one of my mugs!
